CALIFORNIA READING ASSOCIATION

The California Reading Association (CRA) is an independent, self-governing organization dedicated to increasing literacy and instilling a love for reading in children and adults alike, with special attention to California residents.

CRA is involved in many activities including, but not limited to, publishing information on cutting edge reading research, legislative advocacy, co-sponsoring  the California Young Reader Medal program and hosting an annual professional development conference.  This year, the 39th annual conference will be held  from November 3 through November 5 in Ontario, California.

INTERNATIONAL READING ASSOCIATION

The International Reading Association  (IRA) is the world’s leading organization of literacy professionals. Members rely on them for the professional development resources needed to reach a shared goal: Teaching the world to read.  IRA engages in the same type of activities as California Reading Association, but on an global scale.
